Plenty of people have at least one room they wish was larger. Whether it's a bedroom, living room or personal office, it's important that it doesn't feel overcrowded. Even though it may be a small room, there are tricks to work around it and make it feel bigger. Here are four designing tips to help a small room feel bigger:
- Paint with lighter, neutral colors. These types of colors will make your room look less claustrophobic.
- Choose furniture that can be used for multiple purposes. For example, an ottoman can be used as a bench or a coffee table. Kill two birds with one stone.
- Use mirrors and glass. Mirrors give off the effect of more space by reflecting the open space in the room. Furniture with glass makes it look smaller.
